Met uses settlement agreements to pay out £666,000 for racist behaviour
The Metropolitan Police has compensated over 30 people to the tune of almost £666,000.
Most of the cases have been made in out-of-court settlements.
The figures only came to light after pressure on the Police Force as the individuals concerned will almost certainly have agreed to confidentially clauses.
Such clauses attract criticism particularly for an organisation such as the Met with its historic problems and image regarding racism.
£469,490 was paid to 33 individuals alone.
These sums are on top of further reported sums used in settlement agreements for cases against the Met.
